Executive Producer, Sam Beler had a dream after he heard the rich tones of
vocalist Jamie Davis voice. Beler wanted to unite Jamie’s amazing sound
with his other passion; re-igniting the popularity of Big Band Jazz. The vibrant
dream fueled Beler’s imagination and ultimately drove him to find collaborators
to bring it into reality. A decade later, Beler teamed with hall of fame drummer
and producer, Greg Errico, and launched Unity Music. Their first project is
the live in-studio recording of Jamie Davis' album, "Its A Good Thing" and
a companion DVD of the musicians in action.
Jamie Davis, often likened to Billy Eckstine, Lou Rawls, Luther
Vandross, or Joe Williams, has a voice that unpretentiously carries
the qualities of these greats with his own unique stamp. Whether
it’s the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Cole Porter or Thelonious Monk,
Davis’ modern treatments and arrangements make Big Band Jazz new
again.
Unity Music was founded in 2005 by Sam Beler, Greg Errico and Jamie
Davis.
