Vibe Over Perfection

JAMIE DAVIS
THE "CHOCOLATE
BARITONE"

An alum of the Count Basie Band, Jamie Davis, has been compared to Joe Williams, Johnny Hartman, and Lou Rawls, but as you will hear, Mr. Davis has a truly unique sound and style. Davis has performed with Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Milt Jackson, Eddie Henderson, and Patty Austin, just to name a few.

This is Davis' second CD on Unity Music, again produced by Greg Errico, former drummer for Sly and the Family Stone,

and engineered and mixed by
4-time Grammy Award winner, Woody Woodruff.

In VIBE OVER PERFECTION, Davis swings harder than ever. From the 1930’s classic, 'Pennies From Heaven', to Lou Rawls' 70's pop hit, 'You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine', and Lionel Ritchie's 'Hello', Davis and his orchestra leave you feelin’ good... really good. Accompanied by world-class musicians such as Tom Scott, Shelly Berg, and members of The Count Basie Orchestra, featuring Scotty Barnhart, Davis has clearly established himself among elite company.

Davis' passion is working with schools around the San Francisco Bay Area, and has raised thousands of dollars for the purchase of musical instruments.

All the more reason to put this disc on. Let Mr. Davis and his band lift your spirits and make you feel good… really good!
